Knicks take a commanding 3-1 lead
As the 2025 NBA Playoffs continue, the New York Knicks have taken a commanding 3-1 lead against the reigning defending NBA Champions in the Boston Celtics. Round 2 in this postseason has been filled with twist and turns as the New York Knicks look to end the series back at TD Garden for game 5. Yesterday the knicks won game 4 with Jalen Brunson dropping 39 points, 12 assist, and 5 rebounds determined not to fall down by 20 points like the previous two games, NY overcame a 16-point deficit to once again upset the defending Champions at Madison Square Garden in a 121-113 win.
Starting the series the New York knicks came into the matchup an underdog, but has proved since that they are in these playoffs for a reason. Opening up the first two games in Boston, NY stormed back down by 20 in the first two games along with some great defensive pressure from guard Mikal Bridges, to steal home court advantage from the NBA Champs.
Last night’s game proved that the Knicks are very confident in their abilities to overcome a powerful opponent in the Boston Celtics to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. with game 5 back in Boston will the Knicks close out the series or will Boston force a game 6? During the fourth quarter last night with just over three minutes left in regulation the Knicks had momentum and the lead in the final’s minutes of game 4 as many would say they already had the game in the bag, tragedy struck for the Boston Celtics as the leader of the defending Champions in Jayson Tatum went down with an apparent leg injury that has been alleged to be a torn achilles.
With the future of the Celtics moving forward being uncertain, this is a big blow to the defending champions moving forward in the playoffs. hopefully the injury is not as bad as some are speculating but only time will tell. As for the Knicks, they are in position to knock out a great rival and arguably the favorite to repeat for an NBA title this year.
